Are you bothered about which place to travel in Xian with your kids? Maybe you are thinking that Xian is too ancient for children? Don't worry about it any more, just check the list sorted by age below, you will find the perfect activity for your kids no matter how old are they!

1. For Toddlers

Xingqing Park西安兴庆公园
Head to Xingqing park where you can stroll around the park with your babies and toddlers. Your kids can play on the play equipment. Go in the early morning to watch the locals practicing tai chi. Your toddlers will love this place!

Music fountain show at Big Wild Goose Pagoda大雁塔音乐喷泉
Head to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the evening and the kids will love the water fountain show. It is the largest musical fountain in Asia. A great performance with lights, water, music, laser beams... it's open every night and it's FREE! The water jets are synchronized to music and they light up. This is one of the best things to do in Xian with babies and toddlers.

2. For Pupil Aged Kids
Botanical Garden植物园
Xian Botanical Garden is located in the southern suburb of Xian (next to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda). Covering an area of 20 hectares, it is one of the eight botanical gardens that were built in the early years of New China.
With over 3,400 kinds of plants, Xian Botanical Garden leads the northwest China in plant diversity. Walking in the Aromatic Plants Garden, visitors will be greeted by the fragrance of flowers.

Qujiang Ocean World曲江海洋世界
Qujiang New District of Xian City is located in the south-east, five kilometers from the city center. For Qujiang, the Qujiang Ocean World enriches the tourism items, advances the culture of the city, and impact the blue of the yellow land.
The Qujiang Ocean World is a largest modernized education base for ocean science and technology in northwestern region, a window for communication between human and nature, and a bridge for people to get knowledge of ocean, to understand life, to concern nature, and to love life.

Tang Paradise大唐芙蓉园
Tang Paradise is a cultural theme park representing the Tang dynasty. It has many beautiful gardens to explore. In the evening you can see the water movie. It will thrill the kids, as the screen is a film of water which creates optical illusions.

3. For Teenagers
Xian City Wall西安城墙
Go biking on the City Wall. Your kids will love biking on this 14 km wall that provides great views of the city below. There are tandem bikes available. There are no child seats available on the bikes. You can take the electric car around the wall if you are traveling with small children. Your teenagers will love this Xi'an activity.
Entrance Fee: CNY 40 per adult, half the price for children height between 1.2-1.4m, and free for kid under 1.2

Muslim Street回民一条街
Stroll through the Muslim Street and buy trinkets in the bazaars, and discover all sorts of exotic foods as well as grab a bite to eat. Your teenagers will have a blast as they bargain for their goods.

Mt. Huashan华山
Mt. Huashan is situated to the south of Huayin County, 120 kilometres east of Xian City. Huashan is literally translated as Flower Mountain. Mt. Huashan is one of China’s five holy mountains, or called Western Mountain ( Xiyue ) due to its geographical location in relation to the others, is famed as the most precipitous of the five. It is the highest among the five great mountains. It is famed as the most precipitous of the five.

Bus Routes: take Tourist Line 1 from East Square of the train station to Mt. Huashan


Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses秦陵兵马俑
Kids will be impressed by the boggling terra cotta army, thousands of ceramic warriors and horses guarding the nearby tomb of the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang (Qin Shi Huangdi). A truly amazing archeological discovery, the terra cotta warriors stand in rows in earthen tunnels, prepared for battle (pit 1 is bigger than two football fields). The expressions on the faces of the figures are so real, it's like staring into the face of ancient China over 2000 years ago.
