Nanjing Lukou International Airport

Situated in the southeast of Nanjing, Nanjing Lukou International Airport is 35 kilometers away from the hub of the city, about 45 minutes' drive. The construction of the airport firstly started in 1995 and completed two years later, while international flights became available soon after it was officially put into operation. Now 42 domestic air routes and 19 international ones are available in the airport. All 4-star and 5-star as well as some major 3-star hotels in town can be accessible directly via Airport Express Bus. Nanjing Railway Station

Nanjing is one of the most important transport centers concerning rail transport and also the junction of Jinghu Railway and Ningtong Railway. Nanjing Railway Station is located in the north of the city, lying against Purple Mountain and embracing the sparkling Xuanwu Lake. The advanced equipment and facilities ensure the amenity of the environment for its travlers.There are several major cities along Shanghai-Nanjing Railway, such as Suzhou, Wuxi, Kunshan etc. With the help of bullet trains, it takes only 2 hours and a half from Nanjing to Shanghai, which benefits those commuters greatly. Traveling by bullet trains is not more troublesome than by bus. Generally speaking, tickets can be purchased 10 days before the departure date, but during holidays you'd better get the tickets as soon as you can. The ticket office in Nanjing Railway Station has dozens of service windows open at the same time, but first you need to figure out your ideal departure date and what kind of train you prefer so that you can get what you want from the right window promptly.

The transport around the railway station is very convenient. The buses available are as follow: No.1,10,130,13,17,22,28,32,33,36,44,45,50,59,64,71,76,66,69,136,159 and Y1. You can go to the station by subway too, which is quite convenient. Nanjing Zhongyangmen Long-distance Bus Station is a few minutes' walk away from the railway station. Fast food chains like KFC and McDonald's(24-hour) are available near the station if you want to take a bite before or after your trip.

Expressway

Nanjing is one of the largest expressway transport hubs in east China, where altogether 9 bustling long-distance bus stations receive and transfer thousands of passengers every day. Six expressways radiate from Nanjing to cities in Jiangsu and other neighboring provinces, for instance, Anhui and Zhejiang. Among those stations, Nanjing Zhongyangmen Long-distance Bus Station is the biggest not only in Nanjing but also in Jiangsu Province. From 7 a.m -9 p.m, a vehicle heading for the cities along Nanjing-Shanghai expressway sets out in every twenty minutes.Take bus No. 1,Y1,8,15,28,30,33,35,38,45,56 or 117 and get off on the stop of Zhongyangmen, and the station is within 3 minutes' walk.

Bus

In the urban area of Nanjing, more than 100 bus routes link with each other into an enormous public transport network. All the buses run in midtown are conductor-less and the fare of regular bus is 1 RMB while 2 RMB for the air-conditioned one. A number of buses with conductors mostly can be found in suburban districts and the outskirts. Travel Line Buses are convenient for people when they travel in Nanjing, which run in 5 routes , including most of the tourist attractions in Nanjing.

Subway

Nanjing is the 6th city in China that owns subway. The Metro line 1 was put into test operation on August 2008 and officially launched on September, with a total length of 21.72 kilometers, 11 stops underground and 5 above.The fare ranges from 2-4 RMB, depending on the distance you take.
