Shanghai Railway Museum was rebuilt on the basis of the old Shanghai North Railway Station which was built in 1909, featuring an old-fashioned classic English style. The main building of the museum is a 4-storied one and the overall exhibition area can be divided into 6 parts. you can find about 800 exhibitions which are placed on rails or carriages.

- Shanghai Spectacles Museum
This museum introduces the history of glasses, the development and also the tips for how to take care of our eyes. In the exhibition hall, you can learn a lot about our eyes and the materials of glasses.You can also find some precious antique glasses exhibited here with a history longer than 400 years. Though it is not a major museum, it plays an important role in disseminating the knowledge of glasses and eyes among schoolchildren, and helpping them protect their sight. Poor eye-sight is a growing problem for children, and learning the related information can be really effective. Besides, in a specially designed room, visitors can design a pair of glasses on their own via the assistance of some advanced machines.
