The local guide will pick you up at your Shanghai hotel/apartment. Then you will start your first-day sightseeing of Shanghai.
This morning you will visit City God Temple and nearby Yuyuan Garden.
After lunch, Nanjing Road is your first stop. It enjoys high fame as China No.1 Pedestrian Street. Then you will be transferred to Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the landmark of Shanghai.
The Bund area is also a tourist hang-out in Shanghai. This evening you have the chance to take a cruising on Huangpu River. After cruising, transfer back to your hotel/apartment.
- City God Temple: The City God Temple of Shanghai is a temple in the old city of Shanghai, China, and is today the central feature of a large retail and entertainment district. It originated as the Jinshan God Temple, dedicated to the spirit of Jinshan, or "Gold Mountain", an island off the coast of Shanghai. It was converted into a City God Temple in 1403, during the Yongle era of the Ming dynasty.
- The Bund: Also called the Zhongshan Road, it is a famous waterfront and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years, winding a 1500 meters (less than one mile) length. Walking along the Bund, which is at the west shore of the Huangpu River, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower can be seen on the opposite side and also the Jin Mao Tower.Being one of the Top Ten Shanghai Attractions, the Bund is a really beautiful and special place which is worth visiting. On the western side of Zhongyi Dongyi Road stand 52 buildings, showing various Chinese and foreign architectural styles, hence the name of  “World Architecture Exposition in Modern Times”
- Cruising on Huangpu River：Huangpu River, yellow in color and ice-free all the year round, is 14 kilometers long, and averages 400 meters wide and 9 meters deep. On a starry night, cruising on the river, you can see the stately row of buildings at the Bund. This quintessential example of multi-national architecture gives off an aura of color, painting the night skyline. The splendid array of structures resembles misty ice palaces in a riot of colors-golden yellow, pure white and aquamarine blue. Constantly changing colors mesmerize its visitors and lure them to linger even longer.
- Oriental Pearl TV Tower: Standing by the Huangpu River with a height of 468 meters high, Oriental Pearl TV Tower is the highest TV Tower in Asia (up to the last floor to see Shanghai scenery).It is a new landmark of Shanghai in 21st century.
- Nanjing Road: Shanghai's main shopping street, enjoying the fame as "the No.1 commercial street of China", also it is one of the most prosperous streets in Asia.
- Yuyuan Garden: A traditional Chinese park decorated by beautiful pavilions, miniature lakes, bridges and rockeries. Yu Garden is not only a famous classical garden in South China, but also a major historic and cultural site under state protection.

The local guide will meet you at a pre-appointed time this morning and then start your in-depth sightseeing of Shanghai. Today’s highlights include: Shanghai Museum, Xintiandi, French Concession, Xujiahui Cathedral and Jade Buddha.
This evening you will attend a breathtaking acrobatic show in Shanghai Circus. We will reserve class-A seats for you.
Be driven back to your hotel after the performance.
- Shanghai Museum: As the biggest museum in China, Shanghai Museum has a collection of over 120,000 pieces of Chinese art & cultural heritages. The museum is especially famous for its treasures of bronzes, ceramics, paintings, and calligraphy.
- Xin Tian Di Entertainment Complex: It is a state-of-the-art warren of upscale shops, bars and restaurants based on the theme of "where old meets new". Here you find the oddly complimentary combination of the traditional houses of old Shanghai (the 'Shikumen') hosting ultra modern restaurants, bars and shops. The exterior of these shikumen style houses of 1920's Shanghai have been tastefully restored, whilst inside they have been fully renovated to accommodate the tastes of the modern Westerner.
- Jade Buddha Temple: It was founded in 1882 with two jade Buddha statues imported to S hanghai from Burma by sea. These were a sitting Buddha (1.95 metres tall, 3 tonnes), and a smaller reclining Buddha representing Buddha's death. The temple now also contains a much larger reclining Jade Buddha, donated from Singapore, and visitors may mistake this larger sculpture for the original, smaller piece.
- French Concession: It was originally built in 1849 as a conceded territory for Frence settlement, and expanded twice during early 20th century. It was ever also the centre of Catholicism in Shanghai . Although with re-construction in past years, it still remains a distinct character and is very popular with tourists.
-  Xujiahui Cathedral, also referred as St. Ignatius Cathedral of Shanghai, is a Gothic Roman Catholic cathedral located in Xujiahui district of Shanghai.Designed by English architect William Doyle, and built by French Jesuits between 1905 and 1910, it is said to have once been known as "the grandest cathedral in the Far East." It can accommodate 2,500 worshippers at the same time.
