The Organizer of World Expo 2010 yesterday delivered a participation invitation to Colombia.
Huang Yaocheng, counselor for national participation with the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, said the organizer keenly looks forward to the South American country's participation when receiving a delegation led by Hernan Andrade Serrano, president of the Colombian Congress.
Huang said the organizer would try its best to meet Colombia's needs including both financially and technologically.
The delegation officials were given an Expo 2010 progress report.
Serrano, also president of the Colombian Senate, said the country is willing to participate. Given the success of the Beijing Olympics as well as the rapid development of Shanghai, he believed Expo Shanghai would be "one of the best."
After the meeting, the delegation visited the master plan exhibition hall in Expo Mansion and viewed the site.
