Construction will start in July on one of the corporate pavilions financed by Japanese firms for the 2010 World Expo, a visiting Japanese official told the organizer today.
Currently, preparations for the pavilion are well underway and promotions for the pavilion as well as the 2010 event will be stepped up, Eiko Akioka, an official in charge of the pavilion, told Xu Weiguo, deputy Party chief of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination.
Japanese officials will work out plans to attract more residents to visit the Expo, Akioka said.
Xu said reports on the pavilion published by major Japanese newspapers such as Nikkei had expanded the influence of Shanghai Expo in Japan and he believed the exhibition at the pavilion would be a success.
He promised every necessary assistance with the pavilion.
